Viri Martinez
Viri Martinez (she/they) leads the movement building work at the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice (NJAIJ), the state’s largest immigration coalition. Martinez is responsible for empowering NJAIJ’s membership, and the larger immigrant justice movement, through capacity-building efforts, training, digital strategy planning, and resource and program development. Under Martinez’s leadership, NJAIJ has served as a premier training site for organizers and advocates across New Jersey. Martinez is the proud child of Dominican and Mexican immigrants, whose story of migration and resilience roots them in the fight for liberation. Martinez is an alumni of Rutgers University - New Brunswick and Raritan Valley Community College.
