Sara Jane Samuel

Sara Jane Samuel, PhD, MPH, is a public health researcher and health policy strategist whose work focuses on primary care delivery, vaccine diplomacy, and health communication. She was trained at Yale University and Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, where she developed expertise in examining the sociopolitical forces that shape vaccine uptake, health equity, and biosecurity across global, federal, and state contexts. Her work has been shaped by collaborations with the World Health Organization and the Population Reference Bureau, as well as partnerships with academic, governmental, and multilateral institutions. Her work has been funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the U.S. Department of Education, and the Milbank Memorial Fund. Across these roles, she has focused on translating complex scientific evidence into clear, actionable policy insights that support public trust and effective governance. The daughter of immigrants, Sara is deeply committed to public service and to advancing justice through evidence-based policymaking. In her spare time, she enjoys pickleball, football, and allergy-friendly treats.
