Jenifer Garcia-Pelaez

She/her/Ella

Jenifer Garcia-Pelaez is a political organizer with 32BJ SEIU and a proud New Brunswick, New Jersey native. Growing up, she witnessed the challenges faced by the Mexican-American community, where workers often endure unsafe conditions and wage theft. Her commitment to labor justice became personal after her father was injured on the job.

Motivated to protect workers and educate her community, Jenifer earned a B.A. in Labor Studies and Employment Relations from Rutgers University. While at Rutgers, she connected with New Labor, an organization dedicated to educating workers about their rights, which helped shape her path as a labor advocate.

With over six years of experience fighting for the working class, Jenifer is driven to be a voice for the voiceless and empower communities to create lasting change. She helped spearhead the passage of New Jersey’s first Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. In her current role with 32BJ SEIU, she continues advancing pro-worker legislation and building collective power for working families.
