Intashan Chowdhury, MPA
Intashan Chowdhury made history at just 22 years old when he became the youngest person ever to serve as a Municipal Administrator in New Jersey—and the first of Bengali-American descent to do so in the United States. Since then, he has emerged as a trailblazing voice in local government, committed to innovation, equity, and efficiency in public service.
Intashan currently serves as the Business Administrator for the Borough of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, where he is focused on advancing fiscal responsibility, overseeing critical infrastructure improvements, enhancing service delivery, and driving innovation across municipal operations. He also serves as the Internal Management Consultant for the City of Englewood, New Jersey, advising on smart city technologies, AI integration, and cross-functional strategy.
Intashan is also the Managing Director of Government Strategy Group, a firm supporting strategic transformation in municipalities, and the Executive Director of the Municipal Innovation Summit, a nonprofit that equips government officials with tools for innovation. As an Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York (BMCC), he teaches courses in Public Administration and Business Management.
With nearly a decade of public sector experience, Intashan has championed initiatives in infrastructure, clean energy, digital equity, municipal AI, and workforce transformation—including introducing a four-day workweek and spearheading a town app recognized with a New Jersey League of Municipalities Innovation Award. His work has been spotlighted in GovTech, CitiesToday, NJBiz, NJLM, NJ.com/The Star Ledger, Forbes, USA Today, Politico, ROI-NJ, and TapInto.

Born to Bangladeshi-American immigrants and raised in Paterson, NJ, Intashan is a proud graduate of Passaic County Technical Institute and later Rutgers University – School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA), where he earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration (Summa Cum Laude) and Master of Public Administration (MPA). He now resides in Totowa, NJ, continuing to break barriers and inspire the next generation of public servants.
