Axel Esquivel

Axel Esquivel is a proud immigrant from El Salvador and a first-generation college graduate dedicated to public service and higher education. He earned a degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University and began his public service career at age 19 at the United Nations Headquarters through the Permanent Mission of El Salvador. Axel later served two consecutive terms as an appointed student board member for the New Jersey Department of Education’s Higher Education Student Assistance Authority.

Axel’s professional experience spans both the private and public sectors. He worked as a Managing Consultant at Kroll before transitioning into government service in the Office of the late Congressman Bill Pascrell, where he served as the Staff Assistant and Scheduler. In early 2025, he joined the Office of Senator John F. McKeon as the Director of Constituent Services. Axel currently serves as the Government Relations Coordinator at Rutgers University within the Department of Government Relations. A Caldwell/West Caldwell native, Axel resides in the City of Orange with his fiancé Mehr Chaudhary.
