She/Her

Amanda Diamond serves as the Director for the Division of Sustainability in Jersey City. She leads a team that oversees millions of dollars in grants and capital funding to strengthen Jersey City’s resilience against climate change. Their projects are aimed at reducing urban heat, managing flooding issues and lowering our carbon emissions, issues that affect the public’s health and safety. In this role she regularly works with and engages residents and community groups to ensure their efforts are guided by community input.
Ms. Diamond is a member of the NJDEP Community Forestry Council and chair of the Jersey City Shade Tree Committee. She is an ISA Certified Arborist and Municipal Specialist with a deep passion for trees, urban canopy, and the many ways they benefit her community. Ms. Diamond is a firm believer that we have to use natural solutions to solve the climate crisis and we can make an impact at our local level.

In her “free time”, Ms. Diamond cares about children's welfare and she volunteers for Hudson County CASA and is the co-chair of the annual fundraiser for CamPowerForAll, her family’s non-profit organization. CASA is a national organization, connecting volunteers to represent foster children in court hearings. CamPower For All was started by Mr. and Mrs. Diamond after their daughter and Amanda’s youngest sister passed away from cancer. Ms. Diamond co-chairs the annual swim meet fundraiser where the proceeds support annual scholarships for high school graduates in Maryland pursuing nursing school and fully supplying the Cameron Diamond’s Play Room at Johns Hopkins Children Center.
